APRIL 22ND, 2016 - GAME FIVE GOES TO OVERTIME

Well that was quite the game, eh. Nothing like a little Overtime to get the heart going. The Mustangs are getting scoring from multiple lines, and to think some folks think we are a one line team. Craig Leverton with the big OT goal tonight and it was a beauty. Richard Palmer made 34 saves to pick up the win.

APRIL 16TH, 2016 - MUSTANGS EVEN THE SERIES

The Boys weren't letting the Bombers think they were going to be taking another win out of the Palace by making sure they go the point across in the first period. We had six different players knock in the seven goals so an all round team effort in picking up the 7-4 win. Evan Plotnik made 39 saves for the win.

SATURDAY MARCH 5, 2016 - MUSTANGS END ON A WIN

They say You don't win anything unless your last game of the year is a win. Well we did get a win in the last game of the year, but I think what the saying actually means is you need a win in your last game to win it all. So with the Regular Season out of the way let's get going in the Playoffs.

What better way to end the Regular Season than to beat your rival. It took overtime but the Mustangs did just that in winning 6-5 tonight. JANUARY 13, 2016 - HOUNDS WIN FIRST IN NINE TRIES

It took the Hounds nine tries to get a win vs the Mustangs but they came up with a 2-1 victory tonight at the Palace. I'm not sure what the problem is but the Mustangs with all the talent they have just can't seem to get it together on the power play. They went into the game tonight ranked ninth with a meager 16.7 % . Going 0-6 tonight won't help that out. But I am sure there will be brighter days ahead.

Travis Mayan picked up 35th goal of the year tonight.

OCTOBER 31, 2015 - SOMETIMES 0.5 SECONDS IS ENOUGH

It was a pretty good weekend if you are a Mustang fan. With the Mustangs winning in Nipawin on Friday night it gave the Mustangs the chance to take both games on the weekend.

With about three minutes left and down 3-1 it was looking pretty bleak but with Richard Palmer on the bench Miles Warkentine got us closer with 1:22 to go. Now things were getting interesting.

With the Mustangs on the power play and Richard Palmer on the bench again, Travis Mayan scored with just 0.5 seconds on the clock. Yup 0.5 seconds was all that was left and the Mustangs had tied the game. The officials talked about it for awhile and decided to count the goal. It was the right decision as you can see in the hi-lite below there was 0.5 seconds left.

So off to overtime we go. Travis Mayan had a great chance to end it when he rang the puck of the post. Richard Palmer came up with a couple of great saves to give Kalem Zary the chance to tip home a point shot and there you have it a 4-3 overtime win by the Mustangs.

Check out tonight's hi-lites below. There is a problem with the audio being out of sync by five seconds for some reason. I have sent a note to fasthockey to see if that can be fixed before the next game.

OCTOBER 24, 2015 - DIFFERENT NIGHT SAME SCORE

For the second night in a row the Mustangs won by a 4-1 score. Tonight it was vs the visiting Weyburn Redwings. The win improved the Mustangs record to 11-1-1-1 for 24 points and first place in the Sherwood Division and 5 points ahead of Nipawin.

Check the video hi-lites below.

OCTOBER 23, 2015 - MUSTANGS DOWN THE BRONCOS

Travis Mayan scored two to lead the way with Eric Sinclair and Braxx George getting the other two as the Mustangs beat the Humboldt Broncos by a 4-1 score. The Mustangs controlled the game from start to finish and gave Richard Palmer a relatively easy night allowing only 15 shots on net.

Check out the hi-lites by clicking on the goals below.

SEPTEMBER 23, 2015 - MUSTANGS DOWN THE BOMBERS

The Mustangs seemed a little flat in the first period and the powerplay wasn't exactly crisp but they turned that around in the middle of the third period on Travis Mayan's powerplay Goal that tied the game at one.

That seemed to spark the Team as they carried the play after the powerplay goal. Kalem Zary notched his first of the season shortly after to give the hometown team the 2-1 lead. Kalem's goal turned out to be the winner as the Mustangs killed off a late Bomber powerplay to seal the win.

Richard Plamer made 23 saves for his second win of the season.

Check out the video hi-lites of the two goals.
