I'm really excited. I trained hard all summer

Goalie Jesse Wilkins is back in Melfort and is ready to get back on the ice.

A nagging groin injury has kept him off the ice since Friday but the Calgary native says he is excited to get going.

"I'm really excited. I trained hard all summer, it looks like the boys are in shape and it looks to be a promising season for the Mustangs."

Wilkins posted an above .900 save percentage last season and faced more shots than any goaltender in the league.

The 20 year old says its a make or break year for him.

"I want to get a scholarship. That's number on in my mind. As for a team goal? I want to make the playoffs in my final year and make a run at it."
