Millionaires pump 6 past Melfort

Melville Millionaires 6  Melfort Mustangs 2

Ian McNulty and Russell Trudeau each had three point nights as the Mils exploded for three third period goals to knock off the Mustangs 6-2 Saturday night.

Colin Mospanchuk gave the Mils a quick 2-0 lead in the first before Matt Saunderson notched his 2nd of the year at the start of the second period to cut the lead to one.

Just moments later Nathan Boyer scored on a strange bounce of the end glass to help the Mils regain their two goal lead.

Sheldon Argent picked up his first career goal early in the third to once again cut the lead to one but it was all Melville after that as they notched a trip of goals in the last 12 minutes to vault themselves to victory.

Alex Wakaluk made 32 saves in the win while Jesse Wilkins stopped 50 in the loss.

The Mustangs enter the Christmas break with a record of 12-18-1-1 in last place in the Bauer Conference.

The second half begins on New Years Eve when the Nipawin Hawks come to town.

The Mustangs would like to wish all their fans a happy and safe holiday season!!
