Mustangs Pump Nine Past Kindersley

Highest scoring game since 2011

The last time the Melfort Mustangs scored more than 8 goals was an 11-0 win over the Nipawin Hawks on Febuary 19, 2011.

Carter Berg scored his first of the season during that win, and he did last night as well in a 9-2 win over the Kindersley Klippers.

17 other skaters had points, including Adam Fauchoux, who put up 3 assists for the nights 2nd star.

Netminder Jesse Wilkins surpassed his win total from last season with his 8th victory of the season, making 27 saves.

It was a fiesty affair with over 140 penalty minutes handed out including ten fighting majors. 

The win tees up a busy Thursday for the Mustangs who will skate in the afternoon to allow GM and Head Coach Gavin Holcomb to work on any potential deals.

The SJHL trade deadline is 10:00 Thursday night.  

The Weyburn Red Wings are in town on Friday.
