Win 5-3 on home ice

Kinderlsey Klippers 5   Melfort Mustangs 3

The Melfort Mustangs dropped their 2nd in a row Wednesday night.

The Kindersley Klippers scored four times in the first period and never looked back on the way to a 5-3 win.

Stefan Seel led the way for the Klippers with two goals and an assist while Colton Schick notched a pair of assists as well.

Tyrel King didnt have to work all that hard to earn the win as he only faced 20 shots thru two periods before the Mustangs showed any life.

While at the other end of the ice, Patrick Johnson and Jesse Wilkins combined to make just 28 saves in the loss.

Brady Goebel, Brandon Formosa, Brennan Bosovich and Godric Tham all had 2 point nights, the majority of which came in the third period.

The Mustangs found some life after a pair of powerplay goals late but it was far too late.

The loss, combined with the La Ronge win leaves Melfort 6 points back of a playoff spot with just 16 games remaining.

They will host a pair of home games this weekend.

Estevan is in town on Saturday while Weyburn is here on Sunday to make up last Friday's cancellation.

Game time Sunday is 7:00.
