Humboldt Broncos 5 Melfort Mustangs 3

The Melfort Mustangs came out flying in game four at The Palace on Wednesday night but a third period collapse cost them the game as they fell 5-3 to the defending champs.
Logan Sceviour and Godric Tham put the Mustangs up 2-0 after the first period on a pair of goals in a span of 2 minutes and 19 seconds.
The Mustangs out-shot Humboldt in the first 12-8 which marked the first time in ten periods that the Mustangs had out shot the Broncos through 20 minutes.
Humboldt got on the board early in the 2nd as Joey Davies snapped home his 6th goal of the post-season just 1:52 into the frame.
Melfort's own, Sheldon Argent picked up his first playoff goal on a nice backhand shot late in the period to give Melfort a 3-1 lead. That lead would not last long as the Mustangs soon found themselves in penalty trouble.
Just 25 seconds after the goal, Dylan Fluter notched his 2nd of the playoffs on a powerplay to cut the Mustangs lead back to one after forty minutes of play.
An early third period outburst by the Broncos saw them take the lead with Adam Antkowiak and David Stumborg scoring in a span of 56 seconds to give the Broncos their first lead of the game.
Justin Lund tucked home the empty netter with just 10 seconds left on the clock to seal the deal and give the Broncos a 5-3 win and a 3-1 series lead over the Mustangs.
Melfort went 0/4 on the powerplay while the Broncos went 1/5.
Jesse Wilkins made 23 stops while Matt Hyrinkiw kicked aside 22 on the night to earn his 3rd straight victory.
Both teams will re-group and head back to the Elgar Petersen Arena for game five on Friday night.
