**Pre-season action

The Melfort Mustangs climbed back above .500 in the pre-season with a 4-2 win in Humboldt Tuesday night.

It was another rookie laden lineup with just four returning players suiting up.

BC born Matti Jmaeff got the Mustangs on the board early with his first of the pre-season.

The Broncos tied it up shortly after when former Tisdale Trojan Connor Venne tucked one past Jack Romanuik who played 30 minutes making ten stops.

Melfort's Braden Kinch gave the Mustangs a 2-1 lead before the first period ended. That goal was Kinch's 2nd of the pre-season.

Humboldt's Dustin Bast would tie it up before Travis Mayan potted the eventual game winner to make it 3-2 in the third.

Cole Hyrsky added insurance with an empty netter.

Former Tisdale Trojan Austin Rediron came on in relief of Romanuik and kicked aside 13 of 14 shots that came his way.

The Mustangs are back at home on Friday night when they kick off a home and home with Kindersley at the Palace.

Game time is 7:30.
