The Mustangs remain perfect at home with a 4 to 2 victory over the visiting Hawks on Tuesday night in front 1700 plus fans to take a 2 to 1 series lead in the best of 7 semi finals. The visiting team got on the board first with a power play marker but some great work by Eric Sinclair kept the puck in at the blue line and setup Kalem Zary to knot things up. A short while later Travis Mayan notched a penalty shot goal after the visiting team was called for closing there hand on the puck in the goal crease. It was 2 to 1 after the first period. The second period saw the visitors knot things at 2 on another power play goal. Melfort came back and after some sustained pressure hometown hero Kalem Zary scored his second of the night to take a 3 to 2 lead and that would stand up as the eventual game winner. Tristan Frei potted an empty netter to put the game on ice. Game 4 of the series goes in Nipawin Thursday April 7 at 7:30 PM.
