Game 6 at the Whitney Forum was an absolute thriller for the near sellout crowd including many of the Mustang faithful who made the trip. A tight first period saw the Mustangs get in some penalty trouble early and often but a great penalty kill brought the period to a close at a scoreless draw. The Bombers top line would draw first blood on the power play 7:05 into the second period. Two time SJHL leading scorer Travis Mayan tied things up with a power play marker of his own at 14:37 assisted by minion line mate Justin Boyer. The game looked to be heading to a second straight overtime finish until some hard work by the Mustangs third line connected late on a power play and Wyatt Hinson notched what proved to be the game winning and Canalta Cup Championship goal at 17:25 of the third period.

The Mustangs do what few have done before which is win Back-to-Back SJHL Championship titles. Travis Mayan was named the Canalta Cup playoff MVP as he finished with a ridiculous 12 goals and 11 assists in just 17 games. The Mustangs will move on to the Western Canada Cup in Estevan where they will have a chance at knocking off last years RBC Cup champion Portage Terriers this Saturday April 30 at 2:00 PM.

Congratulations Mustangs!
