The Melfort Mustangs will host the Weyburn Red Wings at the Northern Lights Palace this evening. It's the second meeting of the season between the two clubs. Weyburn took the first meeting 3-2 in OT on October 7th.

The Mustangs(10-2-2-1) come into tonight's game having struggled a little as of late. They've dropped 5 of their last 7 games but still managed 7 points over that stretch, while out scoring their opponents 21-16. Evan Plotnik has led the way between the pipes for the Mustangs this season, over 13 starts he's 9-1-2-1 with a 1.88 GAA and a .932 Sv %. Scoring has come mostly from the backend this year as D-man Loch Morrison leads the team in scoring with 8 Goals and 9 Assists for 17 Points in just 15 Games. Carson Albrecht, Kayle Tosh and Adam Hergott also sit near the team lead with 10 points this season.

The Weyburn Red Wings come into tonight's game on a real surge of late, maybe it's a bit of a surprise  to some as they're close to overtaking the Estevan Bruins for tops in the Viterra Division. The Red Wings have won 7 straight with their last loss coming in September. The Red Wings have seen their goaltending load split between two goalies. Arik Weeksink has seen more minutes and is sitting with a 4-2 record. But recently it's been Carter Phair taking the reigns as he's yet to loss in regulation with a 3-0-1 record for Weyburn,

Tonight's game sets up to be a good one as it's the Melfort Mustangs, #17 in the CJHL Top 20 Rankings, hosting #18 the Weyburn Red Wings. Game time tonight is 7:30pm from the Northern Lights Palace. Following tonight's game the Mustangs host the La Ronge Ice Wolves on Thursday.
