Mustangs who have played in the NHL
In December of 2013, local boy Trevor Blevins was named the 10th Head Coach in Melfort Mustang history.
Blevins played his entire junior career in Melfort and played 177 games, racking up 114 points while winning an SJHL Championship in 1996.
Blevins returned to the bench in 2004 as an Assistant to Darrell Mann.
Blevins spent time with the PJHL's Tri Town Thunder. He then left to take the role as GM & Head Coach of the Tisdale ‘AAA’ Trojans, where he remained for 3 years.
Blevins signed a three year contract extention in 2014 that will see him in Melfort thru the 16/17 season.
Dan Meyers was hired as the Assistant Coach for the upcoming 2015-2016 hockey season.
In 1990/1991, Dan played Junior A for the Estevan Bruins, and in 1991/1992 he played in the League Final with them. Dan also played part of the season with the Melfort Mustangs in 1992/1993 and then with the Kinistino Tigers in the NSJHL.
Dan then went on to coach the NSJHL in 1993/1994 along with all levels of minor hockey over the past 12 years. Last season, Meyers coached the NE Midget AA team.
