The Melfort Mustangs are proud to announce that 2001-born forward Carter Anderson has committed to Anna Maria College for post-secondary hockey.
Anderson, a Langley, B.C. product, spent two seasons with the Mustangs, playing a total of 57 games. This past season, Anderson scored 20 goals, and added 27 assists for 47 points in 54 games. He finished fourth on the team in points, and third in goals and assists. Anderson added two assists in two playoff games.
“I am extremely excited to be going to Anna Maria this upcoming year to further my hockey career and get a top level education at the same time.”
During the 2020/2021 COVID-shortened season, Anderson joined the Mustangs for three games before the season was shut down.
Prior to his time in the SJHL, Anderson played 36 games for the Calgary Canucks of the AJHL scoring six goals and adding 10 assists for 16 points. Anderson is also a veteran of 57 regular season KIJHL games with the Revelstoke Grizzles. During parts of two seasons, Anderson scored 25 goals, and added 25 assists for 15 points. He played a total of 25 playoff games with the Grizzles as well, scoring eight goals and adding 10 assists for 18 points which included a KIJHL Championship in 2018/2019.
The Anna Maria Amcats are part of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference in NCAA Division III.
