Andrew Hunt Commits to Carleton!

The Melfort Mustangs are proud to announce another University commitment!


Mustang Defenceman Andrew Hunt has committed to the Carleton University Ravens for the upcoming 2021-22 season!

“We’re extremely proud of Andrew. He worked hard in Melfort and deserves all the opportunities he’s had and is going to get playing U Sports.” Melfort Mustangs Head Coach and GM Trevor Blevins said. “Andrew is a leader both on and off the ice and sets a great example and work ethic for younger players. He is a quality hockey player, and even more importantly, a quality individual.”

Hunt, came to Melfort part way through the 2019-20 season. He played in 19 regular season and four playoff games, tallying two goals and four assists. During the 2020-21 season he added two assists in five games.

Prior to his time with the Mustangs, the 21-year-old defenceman spent time in the AJHL with both the Lloydminster Bobcats and Olds Grizzly’s. He collected 17 points in 80 games.

The Carleton University Ravens are a U Sports men’s hockey program. They play in the Ontario University Athletic Conference, out of Ottawa, Ontario.

The Mustangs would like to thank Andrew for his time in Melfort and wish him all the best with Carleton!
