The Melfort Mustangs are excited to announce another University commitment! Mustang Colton Schell has committed to the Portage College Voyageurs for the 2021-22 season!
Schell, who spent three seasons with the Mustangs came to Melfort during the 2018-19 season after starting it with the Camrose Kodiaks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. Schell jumped right in with the Mustangs playing 22 regular season games and 13 more as a part of the Mustang team that went to the SJHL Finals.
“Colton Schell brought a high level of consistency and leadership to our team. When you describe a 200 foot player, it is Colton.” Melfort Mustangs Head Coach and GM Trevor Blevins said. “He could put up numbers without sacrificing his defensive play and was leaned on in all situations. We are very proud of Colton for his commitment to Portage College.”
In 87 career SJHL games, Schell scored 13 times and added 20 assists for 33 points. He also had a goal and three assists in 17 playoff games.
The Portage College Voyageurs are a men’s hockey program competing in the ACAC(Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference).
