Doornbos Commits to Melfort for 2022/2023

The Melfort Mustangs are excited to announce that 2004-born forward Aidan Doornbos has committed to the Mustangs for the upcoming SJHL season.

Doornbos, out of Airdrie, Alta., played the past two seasons with the Airdrie CFR Bisons U18 AAA club. In 37 games this season, the 6’/185lbs forward scored eight goals and added 13 assists for the Bisons for 21 points.

“Aidan is a responsible, 200-foot player that plays with a high compete level,” said Mustangs Head Coach and General Manager Trevor Blevins. “His ability to play with pace with also fit well up and down our lineup.”

During the COVID-shortened season in 2020/2021, Doornbos scored one goal in four games for the Bisons.

Prior to his time with the Bisons, Doornbos played the 2019/2020 season with the AC Avalance U16 AAA squad, finishing second in points, and first in goals on the team that season. He scored 21 times and added 19 assists for 40 points in 35 games.
