The Melfort Mustangs are very excited to announce a University commitment! Mustang Defenceman Gabe Odowichuk has committed to the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder for the 2021-22 season!
Odowichuk, a full three year Mustang came to Melfort for the 2018-19 season following his final U18 season with the Interlake Lightning.
“Gabe was a pleasure to coach the last three seasons. He brought a high level of character and competitiveness each and every day.” Melfort Mustangs Head Coach and GM Trevor Blevins said. “Gabe will have a successful academic and hockey career given his high level of commitment. We congratulate Gabe on his opportunity with Concordia and wish him all the best.”
In 78 career regular season games in Melfort, Odowichuk scored four goals and 18 assists for 22 points. Also, in 11 playoff games, he added one goal.
The Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder are a men’s hockey program competing in the ACAC(Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference).
