Lucas Ochitwa Commits for 2019-20

The Melfort Mustangs are proud to announce that 2001-born Defenceman Lucas Ochitwa has committed to the team for the 2019-20 season!

The 17-year-old blue liner from Wadena, Saskatchewan, has 1 goal and 20 assists this season for the Swift Current Legionnaires of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League. Ochitwa is in his third full season with the Legionnaires and was named captain this season. In 113 career SMHL AAA Games he’s  scored 4 goals and added 34 assists for 38 points.

Ochitwa was the Mustangs first round draft pick in the 2016 SJHL Bantam Draft, 11th overall. He appeared in one game with the Mustangs this season as an AP.

He’s the second 2001-born Defenceman to commit to the Mustangs for next season, as Kevin Bachul did so earlier this week.
