MARQUETTE, Mich. – Freshman forward Ryan Duguay has been named CCHA’s Rookie of the Week after his performance against the No. 12 Minnesota State Mavericks over the weekend.

On Friday, Duguay fueled the ‘Cats to a 3-2 win with his first career hat-trick, snapping an eight-game losing streak and picking up the teams first conference points since defeating the Mavericks in a shootout in Mankato. The hat-trick was the first three-goal performace the Mavericks have allowed since Oct. 7, 2022, and the win marked the first win against a ranked opponent since the 4-0 CCHA semifinal win over Michigan Tech on March 11, 2023.

Duguay scored again against the Mavericks on Saturday, and now holds the team lead in goals after an explosive weekend that saw him lead CCHA rookies in goals (4), points (4), shots (6), PPGs (2), GWGs (1), and hold a +1 rating.
