Mustangs acquire Bacovsky from Klippers

The Melfort Mustangs have acquired 2001-born Goaltender Steven Bacovsky from the Kindersley Klippers in exchange for a Player Development Fee and a 4th round draft pick in 2021.

Bacovsky, from Calgary, Alberta, spent last season with the La Ronge Ice Wolves before being sent to Kindersley. In 29 career SJHL games, he posted a 3.52 Goals Against Average and a .858 Save Percentage.

“We’re happy to be able to acquire Steven. He’s a guy we’ve watched for quite some time and have done research on.” Mustangs Head Coach and GM Trevor Blevins said. “He’s a big goalie who moves well and plays aggressive. He plays a similar style to goalies we’ve had in the past.”

Prior to the SJHL, he played two seasons in the Alberta U18 AAA league with the Aidrie CFR Bisons.

Bacovsky will join the Mustangs for the start of the 2020-21 season.
