The Melfort Mustangs have acquired 2003-born forward Ryan Duguay from the Drumheller Dragons (AJHL), in exchange for a Player Development Fee (PDF).
“Ryan is a well-rounded player with good size, speed, and skill,” said Mustangs Head Coach and General Manager Trevor Blevins. “We believe he can provide some more offense to our forward group.”
Duguay, an Edmonton, Alta. product, has played a total of 56 AJHL games over two seasons. In seven games this season, he has been held off the scoresheet.
During the 2021/2022 season, Duguay started the year with the Whitecourt Wolverines, plying in 26 games, scoring four goals and adding six assists. The 6’2”, 187lbs forward would then be traded to the Bonnyville Pontiacs where he scored one goal and added three assists in 23 games.
Prior to his time in the AJHL, Duguay spent two seasons with the CAC Canadians in the Alberta U18 AAA ranks. He tallied 42 points in 38 games over those two years, and was the Assistant Captain in the 2020/2021 season.
