The Melfort Mustangs have acquired 2002-born defenceman Kevin Minnoch from the Sherwood Park Crusaders for a Player Development Fee.
Minnoch, a Sherwood Park product, spent the past two season playing for his hometown Crusaders. As a 17-year-old in 2019/2020, Minnoch had four assists in 17 games. Last season, the 5’11” blueliner scored one goal and added two assists for three points in 16 games.
“Kevin will bring speed and quickness to our defence with veteran experience,” said Mustangs Head Coach and General Manager Trevor Belvins. “He makes plays and will definitely contribute offensively for our team this year. We are excited to see what he can do in a Mustang uniform.”
Minnoch also played one game as a callup for the Crusaders as a 16-year-old in 2018/2019.
Fall Camp continues Saturday and Sunday for the Mustangs, with the Intersquad game taking place on Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Northern Lights Palace. Admission is $5.
