Mustangs Acquire Sadlemyer from Fort McMurray

The Melfort Mustangs are excited to announce that they have acquired 2005-born forward Zayden Sadlemyer from the Fort McMurray Oil Barons.

Sadlemyer (5’11″/170lbs), a Buena Vista, Saskatchewan resident, played in 38 games for the Oil Barons in the AJHL this season, scoring one goal and added three assists. He scored once in three playoff games as well.

“Zayden will bring a high compete level that is needed to be a Melfort Mustang”, said Head Coach and General Manager Trevor Blevins.  “He plays the game with a big motor and speed for all of  200 feet that Mustang fans will appreciate.

Prior to joining the AJHL, Sadlemyer played three seasons of U18 AAA hockey in Saskatchewan, playing 79 games with the Regina Pat Canadians and Estevan Bears. He had 66 points across those seasons between 2020 and 2023, which included 32 points in 30 games in 2022/2023.
