The Melfort Mustangs and Estevan Bruins have made a trade, swapping a pair of 2004-born players.
In the trade, the Mustangs receive goaltender James Venne in exchange for forward Brady Wilson.
Venne, out of Saskatoon, Sask. is a former sixth round SJHL Draft pick of the Bruins and spent the shortened 2020/2021 season with the Saskatoon Blazers in Saskatchewan’s U18 AAA league. In two games that season, he was 2-0, with a 1.50 goals-against-average, a .949 save percentage and a shutout.
Wilson is currently playing with the Moose Jaw Warriors in Saskatchewan’s U18 AAA league. He has six goals, and three assists in six games.
The Mustangs are back in game action on Friday with the Humboldt Broncos coming to town.
