Mustangs head North for first meeting with La Ronge

The Melfort Mustangs will hit the road this afternoon as they head North for the first meeting of the season with the La Ronge Ice Wolves. The Mustangs(2-0-0-0) have been off to a great start this season thanks to back to back wins over the Nipawin Hawks. The Ice Wolves(0-2-0-0) however, have been trending in the opposite direction early as they dropped a pair of games to the Flin Flon Bombers.

Upfront the Mustangs have been led offensively by the line of Justin Ball, Tanner Zentner and Carson Albrecht. The trio have combined for 5 goals and 9 points in just two games. On the back end 20 year-old standout defenseman Loch Morrison has 1 goal and 2 assists early on this year.

The Ice Wolves managed 3 goals in their pair of games to the Flin Flon Bombers. Derek Frater picked up a pair of points between those goals. Others getting on the scoresheet include Jason Bednarski, Justin Bill, Bryce Fiske, Trey Doell and Shane Hounsell.

Between the pipes Evan Plotnik started both games for the Mustangs. He recorded wins in both games with a .906 Save Percentage and a 2.95 GAA.

For the Wolves Luke Lush started both games. He recorded a .902 Save Percentage and a 4.03 GAA.
