Mustangs meet Millionaires for the first time tonight!

The Melfort Mustangs(8-1-1-0) will host the Melville Millionaires(3-6-0-1) tonight for the first time this season. Following back to back road losses the Mustangs will look to get back in the win column after starting the season with 8 straight victories.  Melville comes into tonight’s contest having split a weekend series with division rival Yorkton on the weekend, dropping the most recent game on Saturday 5-2.

Melfort comes into tonight’s game having been led offensively by a couple of D-men the last few games. Blueliners Loch Morrison and Adam Hergott are tied for the team scoring lead with Justin Ball at 8 points a piece. The Mustangs offence went slightly dry this weekend and are hoping home ice can get them rolling again. Between the pipes, Evan Plotnik has played all 10 games this season and has looked great to start the year, posting a 1.97 GAA and a .927 save percentage.

The Melville Millionaires have had a tough start to the season but with a win on the weekend against division rivals the Yorkton Terriers, they’re hoping to start to string a few wins together and make a push for the playoffs this season. Melville’s offence has been led by Ethan Kopyczyn. He’s scored just 1 goal but with 6 assists has the team scoring lead at the moment with 7 points. In goal the Millionaires have also used just one goaltender. Colby Entz has made the start in all 10 contests and posted a .904 save percentage and a 3.21 GAA.

Tonight’s game begins at 7:30pm from the Northern Lights Palace in Melfort. There is no home radio broadcast from CK750. Following tonight’s game the Mustangs host Humboldt on Friday.
