Mustangs Move to #2 in Canada

After another weekend sweep the Melfort Mustangs remain as the only undefeated team left in the SJHL and one of the final few in Canada.

This past weekend the Mustangs defeated the Nipawin Hawks 3-2 in a shootout and followed it up by a 5-2 victory over the Notre Dame Hounds. The Mustangs move to 8-0-0-0 on the year, in turn moving up one spot in the CJHL Top 20 rankings, to 2nd.

The Mustangs have been led by Evan Plotnik who has played every minute of all 8 games this season between the Mustang net. He’s riding a .935 save percentage and a 1.73 GAA on the season.

Next up Melfort heads back out on the road. They meet the Estevan Bruins on Friday and the Weyburn Red Wings on Saturday. Both games are 7:30pm start times.
