Mustangs swap Mack for Cook in deal with Klippers

The Melfort Mustangs have made a trade with the Kindersley Klippers ahead of the SJHL’s Trade Deadline.

Melfort has acquired 2003-born forward Wyatt Cook from the Klippers in exchange for 2004-born forward Alex Mack.

Cook, out of Cold Lake, Alta., played seven games with the Klippers this season, scoring one goal and adding one assist. Prior to joining the Klippers, Cook spent 16 games with the Flin Flon Bombers, scoring five goals and adding one assist. The 6’2”, 209lbs forward also played four games with the Bonnyville Pontiacs in the AJHL, earning one assist.

“We are excited to add Wyatt to our forward group. He is a complete player and has a good skill set with his size and strength. His experience will be a great asset now and in the playoffs.”

Cook also played 10 games for the Pontiacs in the 2020/2021 season, notching five assists.

Mack, an Edmonton, Alta. Product, joined the Mustangs in October and played in 17 games, scoring one goal and one assist.

We would like to thank Alex for his time as a Mustang and wish him the best in Kindersley. We’d also like to welcome Wyatt and his family to Melfort!
