Mustangs to open season Sept 15th vs Notre Dame


The full schedule for the 2018-19 SJHL season is finally here.

Once again each team will play 58 regular season games split between September 15th 2018 and March 5th 2019.

The Melfort Mustangs will play 28 games at the Northern Lights Palace in Melfort, 28 more games on the road across the province, and once again 2 games at the SJHL Showcase in Warman to round out the full 58 game schedule.

Schedule Highlights! 

Sept 15 2018

The season kicks off at the Northern Lights Palace as Melfort hosts Notre Dame to open their season. Game time is 7:30pm from the Northern Lights Palace.

Sept 23 2018 – Sept 26 2018

The Annual SJHL Showcase will be held in Warman with the Mustangs playing Sept 23rd @ Kindersley and Sept 25th vs Notre Dame.

Sept 16 2018 – Oct 4 2018

This is the longest stretch of the SJHL season that the Mustangs will not play at the Northern Lights Palace. Following the season opener, Melfort is away from home for the following 6 games.

Oct 12 2018 – Oct 13 2018

These are the first two meetings of the season between Melfort and Nipawin. Arguably the biggest rivalry in the SJHL these teams will meet 10 times this season. Oct 12th in Melfort and Oct 13th back in Nipawin.

Oct 23 – Nov 7 and Nov 23 – Dec 1 

These two stretches are tied for the longest home stand’s the Mustangs will play at the Northern Lights Palace. Both are 5 games stretches where Melfort will not leave the comfort of home.

Dec 23 2018 – Jan 3 2019

This is the Christmas break for the Mustangs this season. They end 2018 in Nipawin on Dec 22nd. They will open 2019 on Jan 4th also in Nipawin.

Mar 5 2019 

This is the last game of the regular season for the Mustangs. They wrap up the 2018-19 season in Flin Flon on a Tuesday night. The same as they did last year.
