Mustangs to send 9 Players to SJ/MJ Showcase!!

The SJHL announced today the 3 teams made up of SJHL Players taking part in the annual SJHL/MJHL Showcase. The Showcase will be next week January 21st and 22nd in Regina and feature 3 teams from each league meeting head to head in front of scouts from across North America.

This year, nine Melfort Mustangs will take part in the showcase, which is tied for the most in the SJHL with Battlefords. Shawn Parkinson is the only returning Mustang who took part in this same event last year. Kenzie Arnold, Nolan Kadachuk, Alex Rondeau, Tian Rask, Kyle Bosch, Lucas Ochitwa, Tanner Martin and Ben Tkachuk will also take part for the first time.

Team Schwartz will feature the 2001 and 2002 born SJHL Players, which includes G-Tanner Martin, FW- Ben Tkachuk and D- Lucas Ochitwa.
Team Kunitz is one of two SJHL teams that feature the 1999 and 2000 born players. They include Mustangs FW-Kenzie Arnold, FW- Kyle Bosch, FW-Tian Rask, D-Alex Rondeau, D-Nolan Kadachuk and G-Shawn Parkinson.

Trevor Blevins will also be back at the showcase as he coaches Team Kunitz alongside the Battlefords Brayden Klimosko.

Game #1 Belfour vs Kunitz. Broadcast to start at 11:00am. Puck drop 11:03am.
Game #2 Zajac vs Mitchell. Broadcast to start at 2:00pm. Puck drop 2:03pm.
Game #3 Garbutt vs Schwartz. U-18 teams. Broadcast to start at 5:00pm. Puck drop 5:03pm.

Wednesday January 22nd
Game #1 Kunitz vs Zajac. Broadcast and Presentations to start at 10:15. Puck drop 10:33am.
Game #2 Mitchell vs Belfour. Broadcast to start at 1:30 pm. Puck drop at 1:33 pm.
Game #3 Schwartz vs Garbutt. U-18 teams. Broadcast to start at 5:00 pm. Puck drop at 5:03 pm.
