The Melfort Mustangs have traded 1999-born Forward Kyle Schneider to the La Ronge Ice Wolves in exchange for a Player Development Fee.

Schneider, from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, was acquired from the Selkirk Steelers of the MJHL at the beginning of the 2018-19 season. He played 30 regular season and 11 playoff games in Melfort. He scored 2 goals while adding 6 assists during the regular season. He added another 3 assists during the Mustang run to the SJHL Finals last year.

“We’re going to miss Kyle in Melfort, he brought a very physical style of hockey to our team and was a great leader in our room” Mustang Head Coach and GM Trevor Blevins said. “He was a player that showed up every day to compete and was well respected by teammates. We wish him the best in La Ronge during his final SJHL season.”

The Melfort Mustangs would like to thank Kyle for his time in Melfort. He was a great role model in the community and we would like wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
