June 28, 2013 -The Melfort Mustangs held their AGM last night at the Kerry Vickar Centre.
After an exciting season and a thrilling playoff run the Mustangs announced that they are one of just a handful of teams within the CJHL that turned a profit in 2012.
The club's net assets sit at $44,407 from the 2013 season. Up well over $35,000 from the previous year.
Off the ice, the club announced their partnership with Dwayne Enterprises for the 2013 Farming Project to create a revenue stream to completely finance the dressing room renovation plan.
Long time chair Jim Thiessen and Vice President Doran Pronych saw their terms come to an end while Chris Begin and Linden Harper have been welcomed onto the board of directors.
As for on ice changes, the club will be situated in the "Sher-Wood Division" which features La Ronge, Flin Flon, and Nipawin.
This is part of the league's change to a three division format.
The 2013 season will kick off with training camp on August 30th while the home opener is scheduled for Friday, September 20th vs Flin Flon.
