November 13 - A pair of local boys stole the spotlight on Wednesday night as the Mustangs snapped a two game losing streak with a 3-0 win over Notre Dame.

Jack Romanuik turned aside 40 stops for his first career SJHL shutout while former Gronlid Ice Cube (Minor Hockey) teammate Sheldon Argent had a career high three points to lead the Mustangs to the win.

The Mustangs would open the scoring less than five minutes in as Clayton Ludlum potted his first of the year. The Fargo, ND product finished one assist shy of the Gordie Howe Hat Trick.

Ten minutes later Sheldon Argent darted his way into the zone, made a highlight reel move on the defender and snapped home his first of the season anf first goal since game five of the Bauer Conference Semi-Finals last season.

The Mustangs were outshot in every period and Romanuik shut the door in the 2nd frame making 14 of his 40 saves.

Layne Harbor would seal it in the third with his 3rd of the year. Argent drew an assist on the goal which marked a career high three points for the Melfort product.

Alex Thibideau made 29 saves in the ND net while both teams went 0/3 on the powerplay.

Next up for the Mustangs is a two game central Saskatchewan road trip to North Battleford on Friday and Kindersley Saturday.

Both games can be heard on 105 CJVR with Branden Crowe. Both nights, the pre-game show begins at 7:15.
