A Pair of Shootout Losses

Saturday, November 16th @ Kindersley

After all three Friday night games required extra time, Saturday night saw much of the same in the SJHL, with all four games decided by one goal, including a pair that went to shootouts.

Colby Daniels had a goal and an assist, as the Kindersley Klippers needed a shootout to get by the Melfort Mustangs 3-2 (SO).

Brandon Lauder also scored for the Klippers, and Evan Weninger made 24/26 saves.

Austin Rediron stopped 28/30 shots for the Mustangs, with Brandon Sloan (10th of the year) and Sheldon Argent supplying the offense.

Friday, November 15th @ North Battleford

The Battlefords North Stars scored three times in the third period, including twice in the final three minutes, clawing out of a 4-2 hole, before beating the Melfort Mustangs 5-4 in a shootout.

Casey Parker came on in relief, playing the third period and overtime, where he stopped 12/13 shots, and 5/6 in the shootout to pick up the win for the Stars.

Luke McColgan scored twice in the win, with Blake Young and Robin Yew adding singles.

Melfort captain David Heath scored his first SJHL goal, followed by markers from Regan Wilton, Brandon Sloan and Bryden Serafini.
