For Period Ending December 15th

CANALTA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Travis Mayan, Melfort Mustangs
When he scores, they often come in bunches.  Melfort forward Travis Mayan scored four times, and had five points in four games played last week to capture SJHL Canalta Player Of The Week honours.  The rookie had a hat trick in Battlefords on December 12th, the second time he's scored three goals or more in a game this season.  The 18-year-old Alberta product leads the Mustangs in goals (14), powerplay goals (7) and points (tied, 24).

SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Ryland Pashovitz, Humboldt Broncos
The kid just wins games.  Ryland Pashovitz added yet another shutout this past week, his fourth of the season, and allowed just one goal in two starts, good for a 2-0 record, 0.50 GAA, and .982% to go along with that shutout.  The rookie from Saskatoon has started 13 games in the SJHL, and has yet to lose in regulation, sporting an 11-0-2 mark, 1.20 GAA, .959%.  He's surrendered three goals in a game only twice, and never more than that.

SASKTEL GOALIE OF THE WEEK
Devin Buffalo, Flin Flon Bombers
Devin Buffalo is having a career season when it comes to goaltending statistics.  His shutout against Kindersley this past Friday (a 1-0 shootout loss) was his 4th of the season, already a new career high.  Buffalo was 1-0-1, allowing two goals in two starts last week, with a save percentage of .968.  For the season, despite a record just below .500, his save percentage remains stellar at .940.

SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK
Logan Sproule, Humboldt Broncos
Bronco teammates David Stumborg and Logan Sproule sit 1-2 in SJHL defensemen in points.  This week, it was Sproule scoring twice and adding two assists for four points in three games.  In his fourth and final season, Sproule already has a career-high in goals (8), and is a major reason why the Broncos are the hottest team in the league at the moment
