Big Start to Playoffs

CANALTA HOTELS SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  Tristan Frei, Melfort Mustangs
1995 F Tristan Frei (Regina SK) collected two goals and four assists in the final three games of the quarter-finals against Weyburn, finishing the series with 4-goals and 4-assists in 5-games.  Frei had a goal and three points in a game three win, then set up a goal in a game four loss, before settling on one goal and one assist in the series clincher.

IBAS SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK:  Spencer Trapp, Notre Dame Hounds
1995 D Spencer Trapp (White City SK) delivered a pair of big games that, not coincidentally, were also Hound wins.  Trapp had three goals and one assist in game three and also picked up two helpers in game five against Flin Flon.  He has 4-goals and 4-assists heading into game seven Tuesday night in Wilcox.

SASKTEL SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK:  Evan Weninger, Kindersley Klippers
1996 G Evan Weninger (Saskatoon SK) wins the award for the second week in a row as he stopped 59-of-61 shots in helping the Klippers complete a four game sweep of the Battlefords North Stars.  Weninger ended the week with a shutout and a .967-SPCT over the two games and was 4-0, 0.90, .973, 2SO for the series.

SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:  Garrett Dunlop, Nipawin Hawks 
1995 F Garrett Dunlop (Nanaimo BC) was an incredibly dangerous player in the series against Melville, registering 2-goals and 4-assists in the 6-games played.  Last week, Dunlop had one assist in game three and then added a goal an assist in game four.  He scored in game five and set up one in game six.
