The Melfort Mustangs have made three trades today as the SJHL January 10th Trade Deadline came and went.

George King to Melfort for Future Considerations

The Melfort Mustangs are proud to announce the acquisition of 1998’ FW George King from the Dauphin Kings in exchange for Future Considerations. In 17 games this season King scored 7 goals and added 5 assists for 12 points. Last season he spent time with the PA Raiders and Regina Pats, putting up 5 goals and 1 assist in 23 games. During the 2016-17 season he scored 36 goals and added 18 assists for 54 points as an 18-year old with the OCN Blizzard. He finished 2nd that season in goals in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. He is expected to add a scoring punch to the Mustang lineup.

Chase Anderson to Lloydminster for Future Considerations

In a separate move the Mustangs have send 1999’ FW Chase Anderson to the AJHL’s Lloydminster Bobcats for Future Considerations. Chase played 28 games for the Mustangs this season and scored 3 goals while adding 6 assists. The Mustang organization would like to thank Chase for the work he put into the team and community during his time in Melfort. He has been a great ambassador for the Mustangs. Best of luck with the Bobcats!

Noah Giesbrecht to Melfort for a PDF

The Melfort Mustangs weren’t done there as they added 1999' goaltender Noah Giesbrecht from the MJHL’s OCN Blizzard for a Player Development Fee. Noah has played 35 games for the Blizzard this year recording a 3.23 GAA and a .919 save percentage. The Mustangs would like to welcome Noah to the team and community of Melfort.
