Hayden Prosofsky Commits to SAIT Mens Hockey

The Melfort Mustangs are proud to announce that Hayden Prosofsky is committing to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) Men’s Hockey Program.  Prosofsky joined the Mustangs organization as a 20 year-old and quickly showed us his infectious personality both on and off the ice. Prosofsky’s firecracker energy made him fun to watch on the ice and he captured the title of Mr Teddy Toss 2024.

Prosofsky, a Medicine Hat Native, played most of his junior career in the AJHL with the Drumheller Dragons. All together Prosofsky has played 159 games and has 29  goals (7 in Melfort) and 46 assists (13 in Melfort) and 75 total points (20 in Melfort).

Head Coach Trevor Blevins had nothing but high praise for the ’03 Forward: “Hayden immediately showed his personality and passion for the game upon his arrival. A leader and well-liked in the dressing room, he had an immediate impact as a “glue-guy” with our group. He was a big-body forward who produced both defensively and offensively. Hayden overcame adversity with injuries this season and battled through to come back for our playoff run. This shows a great amount to his character and determination. SAIT will be gaining an overall great player.”

When asked this is what Prosofsky had to say about his final season of Junior A: “I have really enjoyed my time in Melfort. The community and fans have made it a really great place for me to wrap up my junior hockey career. The fans and the team have made me feel at home and I would like to thank everyone in Melfort, especially my billets. I would also like to thank the Drumheller Dragons and the Lloydminster Bobcats for being a part of my hockey journey.”

Prosofsky is planning on enrolling into Business and plans on keeping an open mind on his future.

We want to thank Hayden for the amazing season thus far and the entire Prosofsky family for the support this season, we cannot wait to see what your future holds for you Hayden!
