Porter Commits to Mustangs for 2023/2024

The Mustangs are excited to announce that 2005-born forward Will Porter has committed to the Mustangs for the 2023/2024 season.

Porter (6’1”/174lbs), a Lloydminster, Sask., product, has spent the last two seasons with the Lloydminster Bobcats U18 AAA club in the Alberta Elite Hockey League (AEHL). In 17 games this season, Porter has scored seven goals and has added five assists for 12 points.

“Will plays the game with a complete motor shift in and shift out,” said Mustangs Head Coach and General Manager Trevor Blevins. “His offensive abilities along with his responsible play with transfer well to the SJHL.”

Porter and the Bobcats were also at this winters Circle K Classic tournament in Calgary, where in three games, Porter scored twice and added an assist for the Bobcats.

Last season with the Bobcats, Porter played in 30 games, scoring eight times and adding eight assists for 17 points. He would also join the AJHL’s Olds Grizzly’s for 2 games.

Back in 2019/2020, Porter was a member of the U15 AA Lakeland Panthers in the Northern Alberta Hockey League. He was second in the league in goals, and points, scoring 56 goals and adding 34 assists for 90 points.
