Rioux Commits to Melfort for 2022/2023

The Melfort Mustangs are excited to announce that 2004-born forward David Rioux has committed to the Mustangs for the 2022/2023 season.

Rioux, a Lorraine, Qc. product, spent this past season with the Westlake Bourget College Volts U18 Prep team in the CSSHLE. In 31 games, Rioux scored 21 goals, and added 32 assists for 53 points. The 6’3”, 185lbs forward led the team in assists, and was second in goals and points. Rioux was also third in the CSSHLE in points, and tied for second in goals.

“David is a player with size and skill who protects the puck well, and makes plays with his vision,” says Mustangs Head Coach and General Manager Trevor Blevins. “We’re excited to welcome him to Melfort.”

Rioux also added four assists in three playoff games this season.

In 2019/2020, Rioux played 28 games for College St. Sacrement, scoring 12 goals and adding seven assists for 19 points.
