The Melfort Mustangs are proud to announce that 2001-born defenceman Mark Snarr has committed to St. Norbert College for the post-secondary hockey.
“I chose St. Norbert because of the program. It is a great fit for me and my family,” Snarr said. “This is a great opportunity to continue my education and hockey career. Everyone involved with the program is top tier, and I couldn’t have done it without the countless efforts of my parents, teammates, coaches, and friends.”
Snarr, a Calgary, Alta product, joined the Mustangs in November after a trade with the Kindersley Klippers. In 23 regular season games with Melfort, Snarr scored two goals and added 11 assists for 13 points. He would go on to record another five assists in seven playoff games.
Prior to joining the Mustangs, Snarr played a total 79 games for the Klippers, scoring two goals and adding nine assists. Snarr was also named Captain for the Klippers to begin the 2021/2022 season. He was an Assistant Captain during the COVID-shortened 2020/2021 season.
In his final year of U18 hockey, Snarr played 15 games for the Calgary Flames AAA club.
