TRADE: Mustangs and Broncos swap 20-year old forwards

The Melfort Mustangs and Humboldt Broncos have swapped 20-year old forwards. The Mustangs acquired 1997’ FW Tristen Elder from the Broncos Wednesday, in exchange for 1997’ FW Jaxon Joseph and the rights to 2001’ D Kade Olsen.

Elder a Kinistino SK product, has 7 assists in 9 games with the Broncos this season. A veteran of junior hockey, Elder has played 116 games in the SJHL between Humboldt and La Ronge, recording 19 goals and 37 assists for 56 points. He also has 38 games of Western Hockey League experience all with Swift Current. There he notched 2 assists. It’s also worth noting Tristen Elder is no stranger to Mustangs Head Coach and GM Trevor Blevins, as Blevins coached Elder with the Midget AAA Tisdale Trojans. The Mustangs are proud to welcome Tristen to the organization.

In making the trade the Mustangs are parting ways with a long time Mustang and great teammate Jaxon Joseph. Joseph an Edmonton Alberta forward, has played 56 games with the Mustangs in which he scored 14 goals and 17 assists for 31 points. Joseph has been a great young man and teammate during his time in Melfort and will be missed. The Mustangs would like to wish Jaxon good luck in Humboldt. The Mustangs also part ways with 2001’ D Kade Olsen in the trade.
