TRADE: Mustangs move Albertson to Nipawin

The Melfort Mustangs and Nipawin Hawks have swung a deal ahead of the 2020 SJHL Bantam Draft this week.

The Mustangs have traded 2001-born forward Christian Albertson, 2002-born forward Carter Stebbings and a conditional draft pick to the Hawks in exchange for a Player Development Fee.

Albertson, from Saskatoon Saskatchewan, played 41 games with the Mustangs scoring nine goals and seven assists for 16 points. In 4 playoff games, Albertson scored 2 goals. Prior to his season in Melfort, Albertson played with the Swift Current Legionnaires Midget AAA Program.

“On behalf of the Mustangs organization we want to thank Christian for his time in Melfort.” Mustangs Head Coach and General Manager Trevor Blevins said. “He possesses a strong work ethic and a great attitude. We wish him all the best in his future.”

Stebbings, also from Saskatoon Saskatchewan, played the last 3 seasons with the Saskatoon Blazers of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League.

Next on the calendar for the SJHL is the annual Bantam Draft which takes place this Friday.
