The Melfort Mustangs are excited to announce that 2004-born defenceman Aidan Wildeman has committed to the Mustangs for the 2022/2023 SJHL season.
Wildeman, a Port Moody, B.C. product, spent the 2021/2022 season with the Greater Vancouver Canadians U18 AAA club in the BCEHL. In 36 games with the Canadians, Wildeman scored four goals and added 22 assists. His 22 assists led the team and were tied for the league lead, and his 26 points were second-best on the team, and tied for third among defencemen in the league.
“Aiden is a strong physical defenceman that is not only responsible defensively, but uses his creativity and awareness to produce on the scoresheet,” said Mustangs Head Coach and General Manager Trevor Blevins. “He will fit in very well with our group on our blue line.”
In five playoff games this season, the 6’2”, 190lbs blueliner tallied four assists.
Wildeman did not play during the 2020/2021 COVID-shortened season, but in 2019/2020, he played 30 games for the Vancouver NE Chiefs U16 AAA club, scoring three goals and adding 19 assists for 22 points.
