The Melfort Mustangs are saddened to hear of the recent passing of Gaetan Benoit.
Benoit, originally from Prince Albert, Sask., played for the Mustangs between 1997 and 2000. He played a total of 170 regular season and playoff games over those three season, scoring 35 goals and adding 81 assists. His best season was his final in 1999-2000 when he was the Captain of the squad and finished second on the team in points.
Benoit was a fantastic individual who was loved in the Melfort community.
