Zach Anderson Commits to Briercrest!

The Melfort Mustangs are proud to announce 1999 born forward Zach Anderson has committed to Briercrest College!

Anderson, from Calgary, Alberta, played his entire junior career in Melfort. Suiting up as a Mustang for 140 regular season games, as well as 32 more in the playoffs. Anderson scored 33 goals and added 47 assists for 80 points. In the playoffs, he scored four times and added five assists for nine points.

“When we acquired Zach as an 18-year-old he exceeded our expectations. He came in and made an immediate impact with our organization.” Mustang Head Coach and GM Trevor Blevins said. “Zach was dependable and excelled in his three seasons. He was a pleasure to coach, and always had a great attitude. We wish him all the best.”

Anderson will join the Briercrest Men’s Hockey Program moving forward. They compete out of Caronport Saskatchewan, in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference.

“I’m excited to continue my hockey career at Briercrest and to grow even more as an athlete and person.” Anderson said. “I chose Briercrest because I’ve heard nothing but good things about the school and the community.”

As a full three-year Mustang Zach got to experience the highs and lows of junior hockey in Melfort.

“Melfort really helped me grow, both as a player and as a person. I wouldn’t have wanted to spend my junior career anywhere else.”

The Mustangs would like to thank Zach for his commitment and dedication to the team the last three years. We would like to wish him all the best as his hockey career continues at Briercrest.
