Knittig Commits to Melfort for 2023/2024

The Melfort Mustangs are excited to announce that 2005-born forward Edward Knittig has committed to the club for the 2023/2024 season.

Knittig, out of Annaheim, Sask., is currently playing with the Yorkton Maulers U18 AAA club where he is currently third on the team in scoring. Knittig has 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points in 29 games.

“Edward is a very intelligent player that plays the game the right way,” said Mustangs Head Coach and General Manager Trevor Blevins. “His development over the past few years has been outstanding and will continue in a Mustangs uniform.”

The 6’, 176lbs forward has also joined the Mustangs for two games this season.

During the 2021/2022 season, Knittig played U18 AA for the Humboldt Broncos, scoring 21 goals and adding 15 assists for 36 points, good for second on the team in points, and tied for first in goals.

Last season, Knittig also spent some time with the Carrot River Outback Thunder in the PJHL, notching one assist in four games.
