Mealey Commits to Melfort for 2022/2023

The Melfort Mustangs are excited to announce that 2003-born forward Christian Mealey has committed to the Mustangs for this fall.

Mealey, a Calgary, Alta. product listed at 6’1” and 181 lbs, spent this past season with the Kimberley Dynamiters of the KIJHL in B.C.’s Junior B circuit. In 36 games with the Dynamiters, Mealey scored 21 goals and 19 assists for 40 points, good for second on the team in points and goals, and third in assists.

“Christian is a big power forward who can finish around the net,” said Mustangs Head Coach and General Manager Trevor Blevins. “His high compete level will fit well with our forward group.”

In the 2022 playoffs for the Dynamiters, Mealey led the team in scoring with 10 goals and eight assists in 16 games.

Prior to his time in Kimberley, Mealey started the 2021/2022 season with the Olds Grizzly’s of the AJHL.
