Bourgault Cup Shifts to Humboldt

The Melfort Mustangs and Humboldt Broncos shift the Best of 7 Bourgault Cup back to Humboldt for Games 3 and 4 this week. Tonight is Game 3 with the series tied 1-1.

Melfort dropped the opening game of the series to Humboldt but bounced back with a nice 6-3 victory on Saturday night. Thanks in part to the depth of the Mustangs roster they saw 13 different players record at least a point on the weekend. Depth is something the Mustangs have relied on all season and with the offence coming through in Game 2 it was big  to turn the series around.

For Humboldt, they’ve been led by the line of Logan Schatz, Nick Shumlanski and Jaxon Joseph. Between the three they’ve combined for 7 goals and 9 assists in just two games. Monster numbers for single line to put up. If they’re going to have success on home ice tonight and tomorrow you’d expect the three of them to be in on everything.
