Catz N Jammers November 3 Stars

The Month of November has now passed and the Melfort Mustangs played 8 times. The team went 4-4 in the month ending in a home and home split with the La Ronge Ice Wolves. Some highlights from November include our annual Teddy Bear Toss which saw 225 Teddy Bears thrown onto the ice November 29th against the La Ronge Ice Wolves. All bears will be donated to the Salvation Army for their Christmas Hampers!

The Mustangs had a few individuals we will recognize for their play in November. In no particular order, Catz N Jammers in Melfort bring us the 3 Stars for November, Shawn Parkinson, Alex Rondeau and Adam Nobes.

Shawn Parkinson

The Mustangs played great team defence in November and backstopping that was goaltender Shawn Parkinson. Parkinson played 6 of 8 Mustangs games and went 4-2 in the month. He picked up his first shutout of the season on November 29th when the Mustangs beat the Ice Wolves 3-0 at the Palace. Parkinson finished the month with a 1.90 Goals Against Average and a .934 Save Percentage in those 6 games. On the season Parkinson has played 1253 minutes, the equivalent of over 20 games. He’s currently 5th in the SJHL in minutes played.

Alex Rondeau

Alex Rondeau had a great month on the Mustang blue line. The 20-year old defenceman played all 8 games registering 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points. His 3 goals in November were tied for the most among Mustangs. His 6 points was also tied for the team lead. In 28 games, Rondeau has scored 7 times and added 14 assists for 21 points. With those 21 points he has already tied his season high which he set last year with the Mustangs. His 7 goals breaks his career high of 6, which he also set last season. The blueliner from Drummondville, Quebec, is in his final season of junior hockey and has seen an increased amount of minutes this year!

Adam Nobes

Mustang forward Adam Nobes is our other star for the month of November! Similar to Rondeau, Nobes has paced the team with 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points in 8 games this month. Most recently, Nobes scored the Teddy Bear Toss goal on Nov 29th which made it rain Teddy Bears in the Northern Lights Palace. The 19 year old from North Vancouver, is in his first season in Melfort and hit the score sheet in 5 of 8 games in November. Nobes was acquired in early October and in 16 games in Melfort, he has 4 goals and 6 assists for 10 points.

The Mustangs would like the thank Catz N Jammers in Melfort for sponsoring our stars of the month! We’re back in action tomorrow night in Melville for a makeup game against the Millionaires. The game was originally scheduled on Nov 17th 2019.
