Former Melfort Mustang Captain and 2-time SJHL Champion Tristan Frei has been named an Assistant Captain with the University of Regina Mens Hockey Team. Frei, who helped the Mustangs to back to back to back SJHL Championships in 2014-15 and 2015-16, was a leader as a Mustang through his SJHL career as well.
Frei is currently beginning his second year at the University of Regina. He posted 8 goals and 8 assists in 27 games last season.
Previous to Regina, he played 211 games in a Mustang Jersey between regular season, playoffs and two Western Canada Cups. He scored 79 goals, added 118 assists for 197 career points.
